On Sunday 26th June Brackenrigg Inn will celebrate its 15th Birthday with a big Birthday Bash, honouring the bar prices back from its first year running back in 1996!
... Come and help us celebrate this auspicious occasion with Brackenrigg Inn’s owners and staff on the shores of beautiful Ullswater. In 1996 two friends John Welch and Garry Smith took over the traditional coaching Inn, one of the few remaining free houses in the lakes.
Garry recalls that it was very ‘hands on’ at the outset. “It was great fun and a massive learning experience. We never knew from day to day what we would be required to do - in the kitchen, behind the bar, changing beds...you name it, we did it.”
“Each year we look forward to celebrating our anniversary,” said owner Garry Smith.
“This year’s 15th Birthday for Brackenrigg Inn is a fantastic way to start the summer and is for all to enjoy.
There will be a charity raffle to raise money for the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team with prizes from numerous local businesses.”
Brackenrigg’s Birthday Bash takes place on Sunday 26th June. Entry is free.
Normal opening hours 11am – 11pm. There will be a photograph opportunity at 12.30pm which we hope everyone will join us for.
Food is served all day and the bar will running a special promotion with prices from 1996!
Pets are welcome. Beer garden at rear.
